After a long wait, Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone is finally on Netflix! This is a big deal for many anime fans, as this means that the critically acclaimed series will be accessible on the popular streaming service for those who don't have Blu-ray or DVD copies of the movie. It has been 13 years since Eva 1.01 was released in theaters and 10 since Evangelion 1.11 was released in cinemas overseas, so it's understandable why it took so long for this subtitled release to show up on Netflix. Eva fans have been demanding a subtitled release of the movie for years, and it appears that Netflix is finally going to deliver. The marketing campaign for this movie has been focused on the few people who do already have a copy of EVA 1.11, so it looks like Netflix had to take somewhat of a gamble on this one, but they seem to have paid off so far. ANN Articles mentioning Evangelion 1.11 on Netflix: LifeAnime - Evangelion 1. 11 Available on Netflix Kotaku - Evangelion Is Finally Coming to NetflixOn November 17, 2015, Funimation announced that they have acquired the license to distribute "Evangelion 1.11" for home video release. On December 28, 2017, Funimation announced that it will be released on Blu-ray & DVD Combo pack on April 24th 2018. The cast includes Yuri Lowenthal as Shinji Ikari , Amanda Winn-Lee as Rei Ayanami , Crispin Freeman as SEELE 01 / Narrator, and Teri Rogers as Ritsuko Akagi . The limited edition release comes with a 32 page booklet and art cards. An edited rendition of "The End of Evangelion" was screened with the North American theatrical release of this film. A small number of scenes were cut from this version, or added back into it, that were not present in the original Japanese release. The scene where Misato and Kaji smoke together after the battle with the angel is extended slightly as he attempts to kiss her, but she stops him by pointing a gun at him. In another change from the original, Shinji's goodbye to Rei prior to her being taken away by SEELE is extended as he apologizes for all his past mistakes. A new scene is also added in which Gendo and Fuyutsuki see the souls of Unit-01 and Unit-02 in the ruins of Nerv headquarters. The 2009 Blu-ray release retains most of these changes, but removes one shot (in which Misato pushes Kaji's hand away after he tried to kiss her) at the request of the Japanese licensors. The same cut was present on ADV's 2004 DVD release, but was restored for their 2007 "perfect edition" DVD rerelease."Evangelion: 1. cfa1e77820
